We have an ALICE BOX connected and pay a monthly amount for our internet connections. The monthly amount does not cover telephone calls. The ADSL phone line plug in has the facility on the back to plug in, I presume, a French Telecome phone connector. I would be most grateful if someone out there who knows about these things could give me some advice as to the best scenario to get the best deal on telephone call charges. a.kennedy@aliceadsl.fr 02 97 51 29 50
I presume that you have an Alice internet connection + a France Telecom phone connection. If the total current cost of these is over 29,95euro then I recommend that you change your contract to a "zone dégroupée" this will give you unlimited internet and calls to other fixed line phones including UK.
I am not currently with Alice so perhaps someone else on the forum can tell you what you need to do to change your current contract.
I had Alice for many years and paid 29.90 a month. That included free phone calls to 90 countries but only if you had the phone plugged into the back of the Alice box and not into the wall socket. It is cheaper if you can get 'degroupee' but if you are in the country you will not get it.
I have Aliceadsl at 34€95 a month which includes free telephone calls to 60 countries around the world. With this you do not pay the 16€ FT line rental so it works out much cheaper. My bill each month is 34€95 plus how much my wife has run it up by phoning mobile numbers! (There is a facility for blocking calls which I have threatened the wife with using for all the mobiles that she calls). My area is non degroupe
