| Some commercial producers add colouring to the chciken feed to get yellow yolks. If your birds are able to eat green stuff eg grass, cabbage leaves etc. this should ensure lovely yellow yolks. Mick |

| My hens seemed to stop laying a couple of weeks back but are now producing on average three eggs per day from four hens. At this time of year I give them maize and this gives a lovely golden yolk. I have had pale yolks and eaten them, they were fine.

They hate this weather. Yolks are yellower if the chickens graze. In this weather they can't be bothered so giving them some maize would improve the colour of the yolks and give the birds a boost too. |
