Use AngloINFO to help you to find the contacts you may need. Firstly, browse through the category in The AngloFILE covering Community Life: Brittany, where you'll find the contact information for social and interest groups listed under Clubs & Associations and Integration & Assistance. Or see the Support Groups category to find a helping hand for tougher times.
One particular social/support group that may be of use to you is the AVF (Accueil des Villes Française), a French organisation established to help newcomers to an area find the information and social integration they may need. There are branches throughout France in most of the larger towns, and you'll almost always find English-speakers in these groups
